Indira Gandhi passed on 31-10-1984 in New-Delhi, India. The aggressors had shot 31 bullets at her from two sources, a Sten weapon, and a gun. From which 30 had hit, 23 had gone through her body and 7 were caught inside her. 

She was announced dead at 2:20 PM at AIIMS. Her post-mortem was directed by a group of specialists headed by Dr. T.D. Dogra. He extricated slugs from her body. He built up the Identification of the weapons and to coordinate every weapon with the shots. The bullets were matched with particular weapons at CFSL Delhi. Salma Sultan gave the principal news of her demise on Doordarshan's news on 31 October 1984, following 10 hours from her shot.
